we have a little update about the documentary originally named "Playing Gay". As you probably remember, Ron Cowen, Daniel Lipman, Peter Paige, Sharon Gless, Robert Gant, Randy Harrison, Michelle Clunie, Gale Harold and Scott Lowell are part of it!

Thanks to the positive response from a lot of artists, the project grew far larger and now includes 39 interviews!!
It become a 6 hour docu-series and it has a new name: "Out Of The Box"!!

Here we are again with more news about Playing Gay: How America Came Out on Television.
We had already talked ( HERE ) about this amazing documentary, written and directed by David Bender, which covers the importance and the impact that television LGBT characters had on the real world. We also talked about Gale Harold's interview with David Bender ( HERE ).
Now we have a video from the same Vimeo channel with clips from different TV shows related to the LGBT world and among them our favorite show: Queer as Folk! In the same video there's a glimpse of Randy Harrison, Sharon Gless, Gale Harold, Robert Gant, Michelle Clunie, Scott Lowell, Ron Cowen, Dan Lipman and Peter Paige.

A few hours ago #RobertGant shared on his social media a group photo of QAF's cast.
Daniel Lipman, Peter Paige, Sharon Gless, Robert Gant, Randy Harrison, Michelle Clunie, Gale Harold and Scott Lowell (who unfortunately is not in the photo) got together in West Hollywood to shoot a "segment for a powerful docu-series on the history of gay television" as Robert wrote on his Instagram.
This documentary film, titled Playing Gay: How America Came Out on Television, is written and directed by David Bender and produced by David Permut along with executive producers Wilson Cruz, who also stars in the movie, and Wendy Abrams. Playing Gay analyzes the evolution of the Television in regard to the LGBT world through the voices and experiences of actors, writers, directors and LGBT activists .
