Hunter's mother carries on with her battle to obtain custody of her son and also threatens to get Michael arrested if he doesn't come back with Hunter in time for the hearing. Mel offers to defend the guy. The judge initially decides to give the mother another chance, but young Hunter manages to prove to the court what kind of person she is so that Ben and Michael are given custody instead.
Emmet doesn't seem to get over his pain and his anger after the end of his relationship with Ted. Mel and Lindsey inform him that his ex-partner is doing his best to become clean again and be cured but Emmet doesn't trust him anymore and initially refuses to visit him at the rehab centre. Meanwhile Ted is sharing his experience with the therapy group where he finds Blake as a counsellor. Emmet meets the "Fairies" who will help him find his optimism and enthusiasm again.
Vance surprisingly invites Brian for interview but Kinney realizes they only fear he might steal their clients if he set up his own business. Actually this is exactly what he's going to do by opening Kinnetik, his new agency.
Justin finds out that Brian asked Jennifer to sell his loft and tries to make him change his mind. Mel and Lin dsey will be able to help their friend by collecting funds for the Concerned Citizens for the Truth, a very special organization. Brian will have to swallow his pride this time .... and while the community goes back home after celebrating at Woody another young guy is being brutally attacked by a group of homophobes.
