Brian obtains damning evidence from Hunter. A DNA sample and a magazine where the murderer's name appears, Kennett Rikert, who was Stockwell's partner for 15 years before resigning one year before, Carl says.

Brian chases Rikert and tells him about his theory regarding Jason's murder. No need to investigate any further, though. A dramatic change swipes away every doubt: Rikert's suicide.

Hunter overhears Ben and Michael talk about him. The two guys are afraid of not being able to provide him with all the things that he needs and consider letting him go. The morning after the boy shows a complete change in his attitude and lifestyle, wakes up early, tidies up the flat and gets ready for school.

Emmett rejects the idea of taking any more drugs, while Ted is hopelessly addicted. He also expects his partner to organise a "proper" party at his place. Emmett will leave in the middle of it to stay at Michael and Ben's.

Justin must apologise to the school's headmaster for his "inappropriate" behaviour to be allowed to carry on with his studies. He is reluctant but Kinney makes him change his mind. Eventually Sunshine is asked to apologise to Stockwell too. He refuses to do it and is immediately suspended. Sometimes it is worth risking everything for your principles.

Michael and Ben decide to throw a party for Hunter as they find out his birthday was a few days before. They want to celebrate it like a real family.

Melanie and Lindsey ask Emmet to move in. He needs a shelter.
